As an audiobook listener, it is always special, when the author performs the book. Malcolm Gladwell will even substitute the original audio, that was described in his books. I've wondered how authors stay out of 'edit mode'--- "hmmm, I should have said it THIS way" (as spoken word comes across different from written).
I also guessed that characters with significant accents, might be performed all-at-once, leaving the producer to splice it together. I see that's not the case. Maybe audiobooks should have outtakes, at the end, like the comedy movies of the 80s often did!
I’m always editing, even when narrating the audiobook. But my director stops me each time. I must stick exactly ti what is published in the book. No little author edits allowed.
Oh dear, I am afraid that, for me, in the photo of you in front of Northrop Frye's typewriter, you are upstaged by that intriguing painting. Can anyone tell me about it?
Very much looking forward to reading or listening to The Marionette. I have only ever listened to a book ( Les Miserables) once a long time ago, but with you as the reader it should be fun.
Wishing you great success with The Marionette--looking forward to reading it :-). Thanks for keeping us up to date on your busy writing life!
I’m so glad that you are the reader of the audiobook.

Thanks for sharing the studio recording video.

Great post, but what country is the accent from in the video? 🤔😉
Always enjoy your posts. Keep them coming.

Good for you, Terry for having the courage, and the voice training, for narrating your own book.

It’s a lovely painting but I’m afraid I know nothing about it.
I'll certainly check out Code Name: Pale Horse
Awesome cover, Terry. Yeah, that will grab attention!
Amazing who you might bump into at the Ritz... lol (Nice ride, btw.)
