Thanks for this glimpse into another world, Terry. And the pics are great! Naive question: how will your agent help you, now that you are well established? Negotiating with publishers, or?

Thanks, Jack. Yes, my agent leads the negotiations with my publisher, but will also handle foreign publishing deals as well as film/TV deals. Hope that helps.

Thanks for this. I have debut novel accepted by a publisher and was wondering if still useful to seek an agent. Looks like it could be if novel has any legs..

Thanks for this substack. It is a goldmine of information and always completely frank and unpretentious. All of us would-be's out here owe ya.

Do you mean you’ve been trying to sign in to Substack to see other posts I’ve written? I see you are a subscriber so you should be able to click on the title of the post in your every other Sunday email and be taken directly to that post on the Substack platform where you can find my other posts, too. Hope that helps and I hope you’re well.

Always something to learn from your posts, Terry. The Writers' Trust is a wonderful support for writers when they need it. And what a great opportunity on A Novel Journey to promote the fine work the Trust accomplishes. Delighted to see the photos of you with Elizabeth and with Linwood and Neetha. Elizabeth was a brilliant mentor for me several years ago and we had the pleasure of hosting Linwood and Neetha at Bookapalooza Haliburton this past July. The community of Canadian writers is fine indeed.
