Always interesting to see the non-linear paths that many authors follow - thanks for sharing!

Wow, this is the first I heard that we are natural enemies! lol I was Editor-in-Chief of Argus, the student newspaper at Lakehead University. If McMaster was anything like Lakehead, the best we could hope for was an uneasy truce between paper and student union... So glad we are able to put that behind us!

In all seriousness, very interesting how you got from there to here. I wish I *could* have started writing novels earlier, but I've realized there is no way I could have pulled it off back then for many reasons. The day job has always helped me as well, but I suspect yours even more directly informs your books.

Wow, you did a podcast back in 2006! You are a pioneer! May be not related here, I wonder of the use of AI, ChatGPT by the novelists, writers. Will look forward 'if' you 'sometime' expresss 'something' on this.

Thanks for sharing. I enjoy your posts. I remember you were a guest at a Writer's meeting when Best Laid Plans first came out. You were warm and down to earth and so encouraging. As the saying goes, I can't remember exactly what was said but I remember how you made me feel. Thanks!

Coming to this letter late but thank you for sharing! I've always found that my day jobs (in healthcare and the helping professions, mostly) have helped my writing by giving me an understanding of these worlds and the people who fill them. Sometimes I wish I could write full-time - but then I think how my life (and my storytelling) would probably lack some richness if I didn't have a reason to get out of the house and interact with folks.

Great piece of history. Putting a human face on political involvement is something that is all too often neglected in today’s world.

Fascinating post, TerryI. I knew much of your bio but not all. Especially enjoyed seeing the video of the early days of Thornley Fallis. Congratulations on so much success and thank you very much for your condolence card. All the best for 2024. Cynthia
