Terry, this is brilliant. Such a fun read! For me, it was The World According to Garp - it changed my (only-dreaming-of-a) writerly life. And Hotel New Hampshire! "Hope floats" - my heart! It's so affirming to have a personal story about this author so many of us admire. Thank you for sharing this and for inspiring me to read/re-read some of these treasures.

A magical evening, Terry Fallis. Good introduction for Mr Irving, too.

Thanks for sharing this experience, and your beautifully crafted introduction. Irving has such an enigmatic aura for me… and now as

I read the Last Chairlift, more human somehow.

So, this was my favourite of all of your shared experiences in the world of authors and authorship. You are one lucky son of a gun, Terry. I'm just finishing The Last Chairlift. It won't disappoint, and like you, John is one of my all time favourite authors who has brought me both to tears and laughter (like your stuff, of course) and who has revealed humanity in its varied forms through characters who are vulnerable, fractured, imperfect, and just human. Enjoy the novel. Looking forward to your next one!

Absolutely fantastic, Terry! Love it when the planets align and you unexpectedly get a sprinkling of magic dust. Bet John and the others really enjoyed it as well. A great moment you'll never forget. Life is good!😊💕

What a magical incredible series of moments this must have been for you and your wife Terry, to introduce, be in the same room with, listen in person to, and then share three hours over dinner conversation with not only your favorite Author, but with an absolute giant in the Landscape of Writing. Lucky Canada!!! John Irving lives HERE!!!! He has long been one of my top male Authors, and an influence since I was in my early teens also. I felt the thrill of your joy, just reading and imagining what it must have been like. I'm so glad for you. WOWAH! Mo
