Washing out of CSIS not unusual. Their hiring process is a disaster, sometimes over a year to jump over the last security fence. Youngest son went through it and after receiving his final clearance was put into a "pool", and told to wait to be considered for a position. He bailed- now working with Cdn forces intel, and doing well.
I’ll buy it! I own all your novels which take a whole shelf in my bookcase! This one sounds particularly engrossing and you do make me laugh out loud…all best from your 2nd cousin (once removed?) ml
Thanks Terry. Your process is wonderfully methodical. I am more a seat of your pants (my pants, actually) writer though we all have to put them on one leg at a time...or so I'm told...
I can't wait. Every serious situation has an inherent comedic side, if only we step back and look. You manage to pull that to the fore so well! Drumming my fingers in anticipation.
Look forward to this Terry. Love your choice of your character’s name. (James Norval) I believe I get the significance. I can always relate to someone in your novels. Keep those novels coming cus. ❤️
It’s interesting that we, as authors, are already ‘noodling’ our next opus when the last is barely off the presses. You, Terry, are more determined, and effective, than the average aspiring author in promoting his book – on tour, at bookstores and book clubs, and yet I bet it’s the actual creating and writing that draws you. As much as your tempting us with the basic outline of your current project, “The Marionette’, is interesting, it is your description of your writing process that really informs us writers.
Good gracious!! After reading your outline for the introduction, it sounds exciting as a thriller should be. Naturally! I turned 85 in January, and MARIONETTE prods me to live another year or so. Thank you!!
Excited about the new novel and the return of Angus...even in a minor role. And I'm sure 'half-baked' does not come into the conversation. Look forward to more updates on your progress.

Congrats on the progress, Terry! I love that you're always willing to step outside of what you've written before to try something new.
Still floors me to hear of authors battling self-doubt, even as they begin their 10th (10th!) novel. It's both comforting and terrifying... lol
It sometimes feels like every novel is your first
Thanks for this. So interesting to hear about the process. Can’t wait.
I love the title Terry! And you must have had fun selecting the names for your characters. They are perfect!
Thanks Melany!
Thx for the update, Terry. Cool title and intriguing story. Love that Angus has a cameo. Best of luck with the next steps in the process.
Sounds really I interesting....looking forward to reading the finished book...intriguing, suspenseful...

Ha! Thanks, Bill.

Can’t wait for yet another great read Terry. Love your main character’s handle.

So great, already news for a new book! Very happy and liked the plot! Thank you for sharing in advance!
