I'm pretty booked up in October and November, but sometime in mid December would likely work, although that's a crazy time of year for many. January would also work. If that works for you, I could come back with possible dates.
I read blurbs whenever I can, and like you, they often influence my purchasing the book--- or not! I'm keenly awaiting the arrival of THE MARI0NETTE in Michael Fredson's Manticore bookstore here in Mariposa (Orillia), the mythical Sunshine Town of your literary birth.
Here's proof that blurbs work: I had held off on any anticipation about this new book because a thriller might be too edgy for my pleasure reading needs (no jacked adrenalin needs here).
Reading the blurbs had me set to go - Let's order and enjoy what sounds like a great read with a new flavour, along with all the good stuff I love about your work, Terry! Besides, it's great to support my favourite Canadian author, right out of the gate! I've ordered a couple of extra for friends. Good Luck!
For me, a known and admired blurber carries real weight, so comments from Wayne Johnston and Susan Juby count double. Interesting that nobody seems to really know how much difference blurbs make. Maybe we need FMA students who could do empirical studies and use stats. But in the meantime, the other blurbs connected me to authors new to me, so thanks!
It's official. "Blurbed" is a real word...
Congrats again. Terry!
I always read the blurbs when deciding to read a book. These ones are awesome!
I’m always on the lookout for recommendations of Canadian authors. I will add your blurbers to my list.
Thank you.
Congrats Terry! That is an amazing roster of blurbers you got there. :)
Many thanks, Terry. I shall forward this info to the club. I really appreciate your offering to come here.
Yes. Let’s look at January, keeping in mind weather; therefore perhaps you could offer alternative dates. Many thanks 🙏
How about Tuesday, January 20 with Tuesday, January 27 as the back-up weather date?
What date would suit you to come to book club?

Will the launch of THE MARIONETTE include posters?
Hmmm. Good question. It’s possible.

Thanks, Judith. Look for a familiar Scottish engineering professor to make a few cameo appearances in the novel.

Thanks so much, Bev! Hope you’re well.
An all-star lineup and a fantastic array of blurbs, Terry! I can't wait to read The Marionette. Quite the privilege to have your blurb on Honeydew!
As you know Terry, I'm all in favour of blurbs. You have some excellent ones...
Your blurbs are a delicious amuse-bouche for the upcoming great read. I pre-ordered The Marionette and am so looking forward to binge reading it!!

Anyone who has read any of your books will not need a Blurb. You just go ahead and buy the next one without a question. Keep them coming.
Many thanks, Rick.
Thanks as always for an interesting blog. Thanks also for an intro to a couple of Canlit authors I’ve missed. Blurbs do help.
There should be a comma after “ therefore “.
